Career Pathway Program for Early Childhood Teachers
Become an early childhood education teacher
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota’s Career Pathway program is for people in the Twin Cities who are interested in becoming early childhood education teachers.
This program consists of:
- 120 hours of online training.
- 480 hours of in-person, paid work experience at $15 per hour.
- First aid/CPR class.
- Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) reading and math assessment.
Once the training and work experience are complete — which typically takes about four months — participants will receive their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. The CDA credential is the most widely recognized in early childhood education and opens participants up to new opportunities for employment.
This service is free and open to anyone 18 years or older who is interested in early childhood education, willing to work with diverse communities, and meets program requirements.
