Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota! LSS serves all people and welcomes diversity in its staff and volunteers...and no, you don't have to be Lutheran to volunteer with us.

We appreciate your support and look forward to partnering with you to serve our neighbors. Below are the easy steps you can take to become an LSS volunteer.

Search Our Current Volunteer Opportunities

You can narrow your search for volunteer options based your availability, location and interest areas. While we offer many options statewide, LSS does not provide all of our services in every community. Volunteer recruitment needs often change, so be sure to check back regularly for the most up-to-date openings.

Note: Due to the nature of our services, we are unable to fulfill most court-ordered community service hours.

Once you find a volunteer opportunity that aligns with your interests, please contact the LSS employee listed. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have, provide additional information and offer an overview of the volunteer process.

Begin Training and Volunteering!

Once you connect with the LSS Volunteer Services team or the LSS contact person noted on the volunteer posting, they will provide additional information on the application process, training requirements, your schedule and/or background checks that are required for the position.
