Christenson Family ready to welcome someone new in their safe and loving home
My name is Andrea Christenson, and I live in Roseville, Minnesota. My home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is close to Northeast Minneapolis. I have four wonderful children, all of whom have grown and moved on, except for my youngest, who is 12. My youngest daughter keeps us busy and is involved in many extracurriculars, at school and within the community. As we welcome somebody new into our home, we are ready to embrace another shift of energy and learn together to create a new balance.
The layout of our home is a single story, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a finished basement. The home is accessible, with the available bedroom and shared bathroom on the home’s main level. The bathroom on the main level has a walk-in shower. The front entryway has three steps leading up to the front door but can be modified for accessibility if needed.
Spending time together is important; playing a game, talking about the day, or joking around and listening to music. We are very ”go with the flow” type personalities, filling the gaps within our day with whatever sounds fun at the moment, whether that is hanging out at home or planning an outing. Our home has many amenities very close by that we take advantage of, including the farmers market and summer festivals that happen within our community.
I have worked in the field of disability services for 25 years. I have spent the majority of my career working in group residential settings. I enjoy providing support to others by spreading joy and encouragement. I like working with individuals to achieve reachable goals and helping to foster their own sense of self while living in a safe and loving environment.
