Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota Names Patrick Thueson Chief Operating Officer
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) has announced the promotion of Chief Financial Officer Patrick Thueson to the additional role of Chief Operating Officer.
“As our CFO, Pat has been very effectively leading our Executive Operations Team for the past four years,” said Jodi Harpstead, CEO of LSS. “Pat has been integrally involved in keeping LSS strong and stable while enabling people with disabilities and seniors to live connected lives in community and children, youth and families to achieve stability and resilience in their lives.”
In addition to Thueson, the executive director of the Altair ACO and leaders of LSS’ Development and Advocacy functions will report to the CEO.
During Thueson’s five years as Chief Financial Officer, LSS’ services grew more than 40%. As Chief Operating Officer for LSS, Thueson will continue leading LSS’ Executive Operations Team with additional responsibility for Services and Human Resources.

Externally, Thueson serves as board chair of the national Lutheran Financial Managers Association and is an active leader in his community, volunteering as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, coaching youth sports and as part of St. Michael’s Church in Stillwater. Prior to joining LSS in 2007, Thueson held key leadership roles at the Coca-Cola Company, the Greater Twin Cities United Way and the Minneapolis American Red Cross.
Thueson earned his business degree from the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul.
