Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in Rochester has moved to a new location at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3rd Avenue Southeast in Rochester. The community is invited to attend an open house on Friday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to noon to meet the team, learn more about services available to the community, tour the space and enjoy refreshments.

“The team at Bethel has been so warm and welcoming,” said Tammy Moses, director of Youth Services for Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. “This is a great opportunity for us to engage with members and deepen our partnership with Bethel. Having our Rochester offices located near downtown and a bus line also makes our services more accessible to people who need them.”
In this new location, team members will offer an array of services to support youth who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness with street outreach services, transitional living support, sex trafficking prevention, support to youth leaving foster care and services to youth up to age 24 who need assistance with emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling, and referrals for health care. Moses said that the LSS Youth Resource Center in Rochester will remain at its current location at Zumbro Lutheran Church, 624 3rd Avenue Southwest in Rochester.

Other LSS services at Bethel Lutheran Church include the Senior Companion Program that connects older adults with trained companion volunteers, age 55 and older, who visit their peers each week to offer support, friendship and transportation, and the Foster Grandparent Program that integrates trained volunteers into the classrooms of local schools to offer a caring presence and one-to-one academic tutoring during the school day and after school.

Lutheran Social Service also offers a wide range of services remotely for the local community that include Adoption, Therapeutic Foster Care, Financial Counseling, Telehealth Behavioral Health Counseling, Host Homes and other support for individuals with disabilities, Supported Decision Making and Guardianship Options, Caregiver Support, Neighbor to Neighbor Companions and CORE Services – support for veterans and their families.
