KTIS Interview Features LSS Kinship Caregiver Services
An estimated 68,000 children in Minnesota currently live in the care of a grandparent or relative. These families often struggle to find much-needed services involving emergency or permanent custody, mental health care and financial support.
KTIS interviewed Janet Salo, family support specialist with LSS Youth & Family Services, about the challenges these families face. She also discussed how LSS provides guidance and support with issues such as financial challenges, medical and mental health services and support groups.
