Consumer Support Grant (CSG)
Consumer Support Grant (CSG) is a state-funded alternative to Medicaid that can be used to purchase a variety of goods, supports and services. The Individual/Participant and their Representative create a plan of how they will use the funds to help them remain independent in their communities and at home.
The funds can be used to purchase staffing support and other goods and services approved by the Lead Agency.
CSG participants can hire friends and family members as caregivers, make home modifications and use their budget in their own best interests.
Individuals/Participants who are approved for CSG through the State of Minnesota must use a Financial Management Services (FMS) to help coordinate the many financial processing and billing tasks involved.
PICS guides individuals through:
- Processing payroll.
- Processing and paying expenses and reimbursements.
- Handling accounting, reporting, tax and revenue information.
- Facilitating hiring and staffing, including payroll, benefits, insurance and training.
