PICS Employee Spotlight [Get to know Lynn Vue, Payroll Manager]

At PICS (Partners in Community Supports), a subsidiary of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS), much of our work is behind the scenes. Our Employee Spotlight helps you learn more about our team. This month, get to know Lynn Vue, payroll manager at PICS!

Q. Tell us a little bit about your career at PICS.

Lynn: I am grateful to have been a part of the PICS payroll team since 2018. I started as a payroll specialist, was promoted to payroll lead, and am now a payroll manager. My responsibilities include overseeing the payroll process and ensuring compliance with laws and tax obligations. I also enjoy working with families and individuals, ensuring that they are paid in a timely manner.

Q. Could you tell us what attracted you to PICS and how your vision aligns with the organization’s?

Lynn: One thing that drew me to work for LSS and PICS is that I wanted to continue growing my career in the payroll industry. I felt this role would be a great fit for me. I also got the opportunity to work with families about whom I learned so much. 

I am happy to do what it takes to make our families and individuals happy. My vision is to ensure our families and individuals continue to receive excellent customer satisfaction, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance.

Q. What do you enjoy most about working at PICS?

Lynn: What I enjoy the most about working at PICS is our culture, the flexibility, and the people we serve and work with every day.

Lynn: I believe my personal values are reflected through my actions with my work at PICS. I am committed to continuing to serve our families and individuals effectively and efficiently and to hold myself accountable to the values of the organization that are set forth to follow.

Q. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Lynn: I enjoy walking, biking and traveling with my little family.

Q. What is your favorite line from a movie?

Lynn: One of my favorite lines is from the Terminator movie, "I'll be back."

Q. Where is your favorite place to be?

Lynn: Even if I could travel anywhere, my favorite place would have to be Minnesota because it is my home state.

Q. Do you have any pets?

Lynn: We do have two betta fish. They are very colorful and active.

Q. You’re happiest when…

Lynn: I am happy when I am around my family and away from negativity.
