As Election Day 2024 approaches, it’s important for you to prepare to inspire hope, change lives and VOTE! Tuesday, November 5, 2024, is the general election. Residents of Minnesota will be voting for the following offices: U.S. President and Vice President, U.S. Senator, U.S. House of Representatives, Minnesota House of Representatives, judicial seats and other offices, depending on polling location. Participating in the elections process is an important part of LSS’ vision that all people have the opportunity to live in community with full and abundant lives. Decisions made by elected officials impact our work, our communities and the lives of the people we support. Your vote and your voice are important and powerful. It helps shape the future of Minnesota! Make sure you and those around you have a plan to vote this 2024 Election.
Voting is a Right
Your employer must pay you for the time you need to vote if it falls within your scheduled work time. Your employer cannot require you to use personal leave or vacation time. Your employer cannot directly or indirectly refuse, limit or interfere with this right, including what time you choose to vote.
Where to Find Information
The MNVotes website offers more information on Election Day voting, including where to vote, what your rights are, and how to receive help on Election Day if you need it. Early voting is available from Friday, September 20 to Monday, November 4.
Not sure if you’re registered to vote? Check your status on the mnvotes.gov website. If you’re not registered, you can register online, on paper or at your polling location on election day.
