Kelsey Woodward
Kelsey Woodward has been with MNH&V since June of 2019. She began as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Guide. She later became an ASTra Advocate in the summer of 2021. She currently does both roles at MNH&V.
She is also serving on the Metro Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Advisory Committee and the Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens board, helping serve the Deaf Community to get to a better place for them.
Kelsey is hoping to go back to school soon to major in family studies and mental health. She has recognized that there is a greater need for DHH children to have better access to mental health services and the need for more people to provide American Sign Language (ASL) access as well.
Kelsey is profoundly Deaf and was first diagnosed when she was close to 1 year old. Her parents learned ASL right away so they could communicate. She is the only Deaf person among her hearing family.
She lives in the northeast suburbs of Minneapolis. She has two children who are KODA (Kid of Deaf Adults). In her free time, she enjoys exploring novel places, spending time with her family and friends, and reading books when she can.
