Permanency through Adoption

Children placed in foster care may not be able to return to the care of their parents. For these children, we work to identify relative or kin as the next best option.  When family or kin is not possible, you may be able to grow your family through adoption.

Adoption for Minnesota’s Waiting Children

As of October 2021, there were more than 640 children in the Minnesota foster care system in immediate need of a permanent, loving family.

If you are specifically interested in adoption rather than foster care, you can learn more about our foster care adoption programs on our adoption website: CHLSS.ORG.
