My name is Carly, and I live on the south side of Moorhead. The home is located in a nice area close to grocery stores, bus stops, gas stations and other local stores. I currently live alone and am looking to share my home with a person needing support.
There are two beds and one bath upstairs on the same level as the kitchen, living room and deck. There is one bedroom and one bathroom in the basement of the home. The individual moving in will take an upstairs bedroom and share a bathroom with myself.
During the school year, my typical day follows a structured routine dedicated to work and school. Once I return home, I relish the opportunity to unwind and indulge in activities that bring me joy. Taking time to exercise every day is very important to me. I like to set aside time in the morning or the evening each day to ensure that I can practice self-care. I like to spend weekends hanging out with those whom I love and doing activities in the community.
Some expectations I have for someone new moving in is to simply be respectful and clean up after themselves to the best of their ability. Using respectful language towards other members of the home and making sure to respect their personal boundaries is important. Communication and expressing a concern directly is valuable to me.
Growing up, my family provided adult foster care, and it allowed me to witness firsthand both the struggles and the incredible benefits of supporting individuals in need. Witnessing the daily triumphs and obstacles faced by those under my family's care instilled in me a sense of responsibility and an unwavering commitment to empowering others. As a caregiver, I am eager to welcome new individuals into my home, and I’m ready to provide unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement as they navigate their own paths and strive toward reaching their full potential.
