Pre-Discharge Education
LSS Financial Counseling Service
is proud to be approved by EOUST, the Executive Office for
United States Trustees, to provide pre-discharge bankruptcy
education classes nationwide (except Alabama, North Carolina and Oregon).*
Education sessions are 2
hours in length, and include a pre and post test. In this
session, you will gain an understanding of life after
bankruptcy, and be provided the help you need to move
forward financially.
Services are available in person or online.
In-person Classes

Our financial counselors teach these classes and each participant will receive a copy of the workbook, Lead A Richer Life, and be issued a Certificate of Completion.

Online Class
Fee Policy: There is a fee of $40 per person for this service. If you are a married couple, and both are filing, you must both complete the education. Services are available for free based on a client's ability to pay, under the following circumstances: 1) if your attorney is filing pro bono; or 2) the majority of your income is from disability, and your family income is no more than 200% of Federal Poverty Level. In either case, documentation MUST be provided verifying these criteria in order for the fee to be waived. View Federal Poverty Level Guidelines (pdf).
